We are happy to announce that for all of our efforts in 2008, Limbo Films was awarded three Telly awards. A silver Telly was awarded for the Zimmerman FDOH anti-smoking campaign, featuring work by both Ray Giarratana and Gary Nolton. Bronze awards went to two other Nolton spots; one for BP&N’s Oregon Lottery ‘Trees for Jobs’ and another for Bend Film Festival’s promo ‘Rearview Mirror’ produced for agency TBD of Bend. The trophies are the culmination of what was a very rewarding year that yielded not only a bounty of quality work, but quality relationships with friends and associates across the country.

| It Can Happen to Anyone

‘The Encounter’ is a timely PSA that reminds each of us that while job loss can happen to anyone, help is available from the private donation supported United Way. In the spirit of that message, Portland agency Magneto along with cast and crew donated their time & talents for the one-day shoot at Portland’s historic Gerding Theater.
Directed by Todd Korgan, lensed by Gary Nolton, Produced by Deanna Rizzo with editorial by Slater Dixon.

Continuing our award-winning history with the Oregon Lottery, Gary shot and directed ‘Restart’ for Portland agency BP&N. A thematically timely concept, the spot describes how lottery funds help to restart the local economy, illustrated here by a variety of elegantly shot start buttons, levers and on switches.
Gary also captured digital still photos of each set for the accompanying print ads and billboards.
The spot was shot in a number of local factories, utilizing local talent and resources, so the project had it’s own circular economic impact as well.
Directed by Gary Nolton, Produced by Deanna Rizzo, Edited at Downstream Media.
