Film & Video Production. Anytime, Anyplace, Anywhere.
// Film Post Production
In the filmmaking process, the actual production days or principal
photography of shooting film or video are what people are most commonly
familiar with. Yet the pre-production, and film post production
of a film or video shoot are equally important pieces of the art
of film. Having an experienced and knowledgeable producer, or production
company to take you through post production will without fail decide
the fate of your film or video project. The choices, decisions,
plans, and changes made during post production can have great impact
on your project. One could really take the same roll of film, and
beginning with the first steps of post production, guide that negative
to greatly differing end points.
Film post production begins with the processing of the film. Most
often, film labs process at night, and therefore the goal is usually
to get your processed film in “the bath” as soon as possible. The
sensitivity of exposed film is not something you want to sit on
in production. This key aspect of post is ideally started right
away. If possible, during multiple days of filming, the film is
processed daily. Organization, labeling, instructions and log reports
play a big part in the accurate communication between the production
team and the film technician at the lab.
Costs for processing film are charged by the foot, averaging in
somewhat similar numbers around the country. However, knowing the
film labs in each area where you are filming is a key to success,
and Limbo Films’ experience in film
production and executing smooth productions across all regions
of the United States is a gift to the safety of the film as it starts
its process of film post production.
