Film & Video Production. Anytime, Anyplace, Anywhere.
// Digital Film Production
Digital film production travels a path from principal photography
to final output in a variety of avenues. Shooting, converting, editing
and laybacks are common steps in any production. Digital film
production travels down a similar path, yet with distinctive
steps that are unique to the medium. In digital filming, the starting
point can be a variety of digital cameras, from hd to regular dv.
After filming, production takes the digitized images into a computer
to down convert to make ready for editing. Based on financial and
time restrictions, editing will then take place either online or
offline. From here, the final steps of digital production can be
simple or complex, and the production world is rapidly growing in
the choices available for these final steps of production. Finally,
a layback is creating in combining the film and audio to create
either a digital output or a processing to film stock. The distribution
and destination for the piece will determine which last step or
steps are taken to accurately output the digital film.
